A Year of Alfa: Look Back at Some of Our Biggest Events
Just about every year is a great year to be an Alfa Romeo driver. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the most exciting events and unveilings of the last year.
A New Logo
Earlier this year, the company revealed a new Alfa Romeo logo in celebration of the brand’s 110th anniversary. The brand was born in 1920 in Milan, Italy. Since then, it has created a fleet of powerful and stylish cars. This new design will keep the classic “Biscione” or serpent, while the numbers “110” are proudly displayed. The new logo will be used in all of it’s branding around the world, ultimately culminating in a celebration on June 24th at the Alfa Romeo museum in Arese, Italy.
Actor Alexander Skarsgard Stars in New Campaign
The award winning actor from hit TV series “True Blood” and “Big Little Lies” will be featured in two new commericlas for Alfa Romeo. One will be for the all-new 2020 Giulia and one for the 2020 Stelvo.
The video featuring the Stelvio shows actor Alexander Skarsgard walking out of a beautiful home and getting into a red Stelvio parked in a driveway. As he and the Stelvio take off down a beautiful winding, mountain road, he talks about legacies. Behind his monologue, we hear the roar of the car as various close ups show us the stunning new tachometer display, touch screen infotainment system, and front grille. This beautifully-shot campaign reminds us that legacies, like that of Alfa Romeo, know no bounds.
The second video of the campaign showcasing the Giulia begins with a heartbeat sound as Skarsgard walks through a parking garage to his red Giulia. As he closes the door, headlights brighten and the screen flickers between the lights and the push button start feature. He begins by telling watchers that “ambition is in our DNA.” The campaign is powerful and showcases the great determination and passion behind each of Alfa Romeo’s designs and vehicles.
2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia
The 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia is available in three models, the Giulia, the Ti, and the high-performance Quadrifoglio. The Giulia and Ti models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder engine with 280 horsepower at 306 lbs-ft of torque. It’s powered through its rear wheels to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Giulia and Ti are both available as AWD. The Quadrifoglio is powered by a turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 engine, with 505 horsepower at 443 lbs-ft of torque.
The Giulia comes standard with Brembo brakes, leather upholstery, and dual-zone climate control. It’s infotainment comes in the form of an 8.8inch screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio. The Ti adds the Sport and Lusso packages in addition to the Active Driver Assist Package, which includes a variety of driver safety options.
The Quadrifoglio is by far the most powerful Giulia and comes with the most features. This means a unique front fascia, grille, and rear diffuser with the hood and roof of the car being made from carbon fiber. All in all, drivers agree that Alfa Romeo spent the extra time to take care of small details and maintain the smooth and comfortable ride we expect from the manufacturer.
2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio
The Stelvio is raising the bar for performance SUVs. This car delivers performance, design, and technology. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio was designed and born from the Stelvio Pass, a road which the SUV was created to conquer. The 2020 model features a new 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
New safety features include semi-autonomous driving mode and autonomous emergency braking. The interior has been elevated with a redesigned center console, improved switches, and a newly available wireless phone-charging pad. The vehicle is available in several trims; Base, Sport, Ti, Ti Lusso, and Ti Sport. The car is powered by a turbocharged 4 cylinder boasting 280 horsepower. All in all, this powerful vehicle has a plethora of options and available features.
Since the beginning of Alfa Romeo’s history, they have continued to develop stylish and exclusive automobiles for those that love to drive. Their 110th anniversary reminds us that the manufacturer will never tire of making race-inspired and award-winning automobiles, capable of taking our breath away.
